Rescue & Restore Coalition
The Rescue and Restore Human Trafficking Coalition of Southeast Louisiana was formed in April 2009 with the help of funding from the Department of Health and Human Services. The coalition, along with Cyrus International has developed an outreach and awareness campaign called Trafficking Hope. The goals are to:
- Identify, rescue, and restore victims of sex and labor trafficking from cities along the I-10 corridor from Baton Rouge to New Orleans, LA.
- Educate the public and provide awareness on the issue of Human Trafficking in America regarding both American and international victims.
The
Rescue and Restore Coalition offers monthly
meetings in order to unite and educate coalition members so we can strategically plan efforts to fight the issue of human trafficking in our communities.
The coalition also partners with national organizations and leaders to provide monthly
teleconferences for coalition members. These teleconferences offer education on various topics related to human trafficking in the United States.
Currently the coalition includes representatives from:
- Local and State Police
- Sheriff’s Department
- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
- Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
- Attorney General’s Office
- Churches
- Social Services
- Health Professionals
- Non-profit Organizations
- Business Owners
- Homeless Youth Programs
- Rape Crisis Center
- College Students
- Survivors of Human Trafficking
We understand that the effort to fight human trafficking in our own cities cannot come from one individual, one group, or one agency. This is a collective and strategic plan utilizing the strengths of everyone. To get involved in the
